Verify AccountsYour Website

Your Website

You can show that a website is yours. The app checks for a link back to your creds page on your site and shows Verified next to the link on your Page tab.

For now, this check shows only in your app. On your public page, links are ordinary links without a check.

Set it up

  1. Add your website as a link: on the Page tab, tap Add, then Add link. The link must start with https://.

  2. Copy your page’s published short link. In the app, tap Share on your page and copy the Published short link. It looks like https://creds.id/#nostr:npub1…. Your creds.id/@name link is not accepted for this check.

  3. On the page your link points to, add a rel="me" link back to that address. For example, put this in the page’s
:

A visible link works too: My creds page.

The next time you open the Page tab, the app fetches your page, finds the link back, and marks the website Verified.

How the check works

  • The app reads your site directly from your phone. No creds server is involved.
  • It accepts only https:// addresses, not local or private network addresses, and it does not follow a redirect to a different site.
  • It checks at most six websites. A proof counts for every link on the same site.
  • The app remembers a result for 15 minutes before it checks again.
